Against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Edinburgh Castle the 2017 Royal Military Tattoo will once again offer visitors to Scotland the un-rivalled pagentry and display of this annual event so loved by so many.

If you have never been to the Tattoo before you are in for an unforgettable treat. Right from the start the air is charged with excitement, anticipation and tradition.

As the sky darkens, the oak gates of the Castle open as the sound of pipes and drums herald the arrival of the massed bands. In their hundreds they march out into the arena, proudly playing for the Scotland that each one of them holds deep in their hearts.

Every Royal Tattoo begins with this vivid and intensely emotional display to a sound track as stirring as any you will ever hear: ‘The Garb of Old Gaul’, The Skye Boat Song’, ‘Dumbarton’s Drums’ and ‘All the Blue Bonnets are over the Border’.

Come to Edinburgh in August 2017 and witness the Massed Pipes and Drums, Military bands, display teams, dancers and the haunting lament of the Lone Piper for yourself – you’ll nae regret it!

The 2017 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will feature a special feature called Splash of Tartan with different clans parading each night in their tartan – do you have a kilt? why don’t you represent too!
